Oh Katie I love to see all the childrens happy faces holding all their school treasures! I wish that I could come to Africa Ive always wanted to go there but after I read your book, I REALLY wanted to go and bring back a little girl to love! But my husband tells me we cant afford to adopt a child! :-( But I would if God would make it possible! Please pray that God would work it out if it His will for us! Keep up the wonderful work you are doing there and maybe someday we will be there and can meet you! Love Kathryn
ReplyDeleteHi Mamaof3 I have two adopted daughters from China. I never thought we would have the money either but God supplied!! I don't know you but I will be praying for you! If the Lord wants you to have a little girl from Africa then he will supply and change your husbands heart. : )

I cannot wait for payday on Friday, I want to support a child so badly. I finished your book last week and I cannot even begin to tell you what it has done to me. I wish I was a millionaire because I would give it all away to your program. You are such a blessing.
ReplyDeletefor the past 5 years I have had a strong desire to become a missionary. Being a journalism major, I was praying for The Lord to send me to England to a communications mission through Go Now Missions at my college in Texas. There was one main concern, it was for five months and I am a single mother of a son in preschool. The only way I would go is if Jesus put a desire in the heart of my son's father to move 3 hrs away from his current commitments to commit to his son and make sure he was well provided for. The deadline was October 3, and my heart broke when the answer "no" was given to me by my son's father. But I will not give up there!
ReplyDeleteOne day when at my college's church receiving our weekly free meal I noticed a necklace the missions leader was wearing. "I love your necklace," I told her. She quickly began to briefly tell me about you, Katy, and your precious daughters and the glorious truth you spread all over Uganda and the U.S. My friend soon came and took a seat next to us and explained she had "Kisses from Katy" and said I could borrow it.
I could not put the book down. My heart was deeply touched by every word and experience I felt. I cried tears of pain and joy along with every word. I felt the pain. I felt the joy and laughter. I saw the truth and grace. I saw the gospel being spread. I saw the sacrifice.
It didn't take long for me to finish the book and towards the end I caught myself slowing down, never wanting it to end. I immediately came to your website and purchased my own book, my own beautiful necklace, and bracelet.
The Go Now Missions list for the summer was released, I carefully read the details of each mission and slowly kept scrolling down ..... low and behold, UGANDA! I was presented with a missions trip to Rafiki Africa Ministries in Kampala, which is a little over an hour from Jinja!
The Lord answered my prayers about not going to England, I am supposed to be in Uganda with these beautiful children!
I pray for you all everyday, and so does my son.
You can claim to count the lives you are saving in Uganda, but you will never know how many you have affected in the U.S. through your relentless love. I hope to meet you and your girls one precious day.
many kisses to you Kate, and your beautiful children!
I love you! I am very willing to buy and ship school supplies to you. I will buy 10,000 pens if that is what you need! If there is a way to directly ship you packages, I would love to know. I pray to know God as well as you do.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your generous offer! Due to our desire to support the local Ugandan economy, we do not accept in kind donations of school supplies at this time. We encourage you to become an Amazima sponsor. Through our sponsorship program, all of the needed supplies are purchased and distributed to the 630+ sponsored children.
