The Most Beautiful Moments - Worship Time at Amazima!

Eleven o'clock rolls around again on Saturday. All of our Amazima children pile into the chapel, which is getting tighter as our programs grow. You might think that we grow weary of this routine, bored even. We can assure you, we do not! The space comes to life as everyone begins to clap joyfully while singing their hearts out.

The Saturday worship time is one of the most beautiful events in our program. While we rejoice as these 630+ children advance in school, are fed daily, and are treated medically, discipleship remains one of the most crucial and important parts of our sponsorship program

This is a time for communion with close friends that get to share these few hours together during the week. It is a time to reflect on the past week and hope for the weeks to come.

One of the lines these children sing is,
 "Somewhere, in the future,
I look much better than I do right now!"

Isn't that the hope we all have in Christ?

It is a time set aside for all of us to say thank you to our Creator for what he has done for us.

And trust us, these children say it well!

Join us in prayer as we prepare for another Saturday program this weekend!

  1. The angels are silent when little children sing on earth for the songs echo through Heaven...

  5. I attended one of these mornings about two years ago. It was just as joyful as explained! And so incredible to be a part of, for even just one day. Thank you, for all that you do, for following Jesus and being His hands to these precious families!

  6. Just finished Kisses From Katie. I pray to my Savior to never let me forget the images of suffering and joy she has etched in my mind. Thank you to each one of you for being the hands and feet of Jesus to the least of these.
    Grace and peace!

  7. Thank you for your continued love and care even when it's hard. I'm a mom of 2 and each minute of my day can be filled with joy or I can be annoyed/bothered/frustrated/angry. I know you feel those same things too. Keep on keeping on girl!

  8. Just the day before this video was taken, we had the joy of standing in this very chapel after our tour during a torrential downpour. We tried to imagine what it would look like full of children praising our Father in worship. Now we have had that joy as well! His timing is always perfect. We praise Him for the lives He is changing through the ministry of Amazima. You are always in our prayers.
    With blessings in His name,
    Cliff and Debbie

  9. Soooo good to read more about the work you are doing, Katie....please keep telling the story of Jesus and showing his love to the children AND telling us their story.....I need reminding that all in the world do not live in the abundance we in the US do.....but they have the same God and Savior available.
Thank you and your team for being His hands and feet!

  12. Jesus is responsible for this program, but the young woman that He is using to bring this Joy and Happiness to these people is a Saint. She's the Mother Theresa of the 21st Century. Thank you, Jesus, for people like this who spread Your Kingdom.

  13. Awesome worship!
Looks like you could use some help...
My son can help. 25 years old, bachelor’s degree. Loves the Lord, hates school.
Spent a year in Mexico with Grace Children Home Tijuana. George and Stacey Palau.
You can trust him with kids. Very responsible. No drinking, drugs, nor chasing girls etc.
    Just ask!

    1. Thank you for your offer on behalf of your son. We do not currently have any open positions, and we strive to employ local Ugandan workers whenever possible. We appreciate your support of our ministry and wish your son the best and he looks for the best fit for his skills!

May the Lord give you the daily bread and the day-by-day encouragement you need to persevere in His Grace. All the glory to the Author and Perfecter of our faith!

  15. Thank you so much for posting these pictures. Imagination is one thing, but to "see" your "children" and those impacted by your organization is an entirely beautiful thing on it's own. Thank you for doing these things :)
