Prayer Request: Surgery For Simon

UPDATE 07.02.13 - We are SO GRATEFUL for all of you who have already donated to help provide medical care for Simon. He is continuing to rest and recover from last week's surgeries. We learned today that the unexpected medical expenses will be an additional $3,000.

We're glad to announce that Simon's first surgery was fully funded over the weekend! Because of the followup treatment, we are still raising funds to help cover the costs of Simon's care. Thank you for your generous giving and prayers for Simon during the last week! We will continue to update the blog and our social media as more information is available.

UPDATE 06.29.13 - Thank you for lifting Simon up in prayer! He has been moved out of the ICU and has returned to his room, where his family is able to be with him. Praise God! However, he is not out of the woods yet. Simon's doctors discovered irregularities with his heart beat and are running tests to find out why. Due to these unexpected tests and procedures, Simon's medical costs are more than we anticipated. Please continue to pray for Simon's health to improve, for his doctors to determine the cause of his irregular heart beat, and for additional funding to be made available for his treatment.

UPDATE 06.28.13 - Because Simon's first surgery did not go as planned, he needs another unexpected procedure. PLEASE pray that he will get through this treatment safely, as it presents some difficult challenges. Pray for wisdom for his doctors as well. Thank you.

Please join us in prayer for Simon. Simon is a precious eight-year-old boy in Amazima's child sponsorship program. He has already received one esophageal surgery this week, and his doctors believe he may need additional surgeries in the coming days.

We invite you to pray specifically that Simon will heal quickly from his first surgery, that his doctors and caregivers will be able to quickly determine the best care plan for him, and that his health will be restored.

If you would like to contribute financially to Simon's surgery, please click here to donate and designate your giving to the Medical Care Fund. We hope to raise $1600* to fully cover the costs of his first surgery.
Thank you for praying with us!

*If Simon's surgery is fully funded, additional gifts will help Amazima provide high quality medical care and surgeries to more of the people we serve.
