Simon Update: He's Going Home!

What a hard, yet miraculous, journey it’s been for Simon! While the story isn’t over yet, we have come to the end of a chapter, and this ending wouldn’t have been possible without the generosity and prayers of many.

A few months ago, we announced to you that Simon was in the United States undergoing multiple procedures at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, TN. These procedures have gone well. In fact, they’ve gone so well that Simon and Anna, his mother, will be traveling back to Uganda earlier than expected.

For some time, Simon wasn’t able to eat any solid foods. He let us know that once he was able to swallow again, he would like to, “eat a whole cow.”

Well, we haven’t been able to give him a cow, but rumor has it that he did eat five hot dogs for lunch one day.

Simon and Anna head home next week and, if all goes well, he will continue to eat solid foods! Please pray for their trip, for continued health and restoration, and for an easy transition.

Thank you ALL for your support. Thank you to Simon’s doctors in the United States and in Uganda. Thank you to our amazing team. Thank you to Simon’s gracious and loving mother, Anna. Thank you, God, for your faithfulness, provision, love, and power!

  1. I'm in 9th grade and I've only been following this blog for a few months, but I did read through most of your old posts and have been so blessed by it. Praying for Simon, his family, and all the Amazima staff. And praising God for the wonderful work He is doing through you!
    God bless!
