I was reading Matthew, Chapter 9 today and came across this passage (9:27-29) that hit me:
As Jesus went on from there, two blind men followed Him, calling out, “Have mercy on us Son of David!” When he had gone indoors, the blind men came to Him, and He (Jesus) asked them, “Do you believe that I am able to do this?” “Yes, Lord,” they replied. Then He touched their eyes and said, “According to your faith, let it be done to you”; and their sight was restored. As I read this passage, I am reminded that it is not our hard work, outstanding programs, or even the giftedness of the dedicated staff that is responsible for all of the life change we’re seeing through Amazima Ministries. Yes, we bring that all to the table. And yes, that is our part of what God asks of us. But lest we think WE are producing the results, the funding, and the life change we get to see on a daily basis as a result of our own efforts, we still must respond to the same question the blind men did...
Do we believe HE is able to do this? Might our answer be as simple as theirs…”Yes, Lord.”
I’m so grateful to be part of a ministry with a board and staff that recognizes this ministry is about what God is choosing to do, in us, through us, and IN SPITE OF US. A team that responds with great faith… not little faith… believing that “He is able to do this.” He is able to do immeasurably more than we can ask or imagine according to His power that is at work in us (Ephesians 3:20). He causes all things to work together for good for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28).
As the Amazima team thinks, dreams, and plans, we bring all we have to the table. We work to the glory of God. But we also continue to wrestle with the question Jesus asked, “Do you believe I am able to do this?” … and expectantly wait for Him to respond, “according to our faith, let it be done.” I can’t wait to see the BIG things God has in store for Amazima.
Believing He is able to do it,
Doug Martin

Thank you for this beautiful reminder that it is HIS work & HIS doing, not our own. We are simply vessels. Thank you for blessing me with truth today. Be blessed!

Great reminder to keep myself and my thoughts to the side so God can glorify Himself with His plan (and not my own).
