Update on Jeanne and the New Amazima Well

UPDATE ON JEANNE
Thank you to those of you who have donated to help pay for surgery for 14 month old Jeanne!  We are very blessed by your generosity.  We’ve raised $1,100 in just one week!  Thank you, thank you.
NEW WELL

Amazima well with solar panels
Last year Amazima built a 10,000 liter rain-water harvesting tank at our site so that we could have clean, safe drinking water for our Saturday sponsorship program (over 400 children).  But the amount of children in the program as well as the inconsistent rain water resulted in our needing to supplement with another water supply.  A few months ago we built a well and hooked it up to the harvesting tank so there would always be water available.

The well was dug 55 meters deep (approximately 150 feet) before it reached safe, drinkable water.  Two solar panels were placed atop a cement pillar to operate the well, which pumps 1 liter of water per minute.  Underground pipes deliver the water to the pre-existing tank which filters and cleans it for drinking.  There are also two large batteries hooked up to the solar panel in the event the sun does not provide enough power.

We thank God for you, for your prayers and gifts that help us serve and love in the name of Jesus.
