Every Life Matters: Meet Francis

Matthew 18:12-14:  "If a man owns a hundred sheep, and one of them wanders away, will he not leave the ninety-nine on the hills and go to look for the one that wandered off? And if he finds it, I tell you the truth, he is happier about that one sheep than about the ninety-nine that did not wander off. In the same way your Father in heaven is not willing that any of these little ones should be lost."

Katie has said many times on her blog that every life matters. God cares for all of his sheep, and when even one is missing, He searches for it, and rejoices over it when it is found.

Francis is a 12 year old boy in our sponsorship program.  He is from the northwest part of Uganda called Arua, from the tribe of Lugbara. Francis is currently in the 4 grade. He formerly lived with his grandfather, but when the grandfather became bedridden, Francis moved to Buziika (near Amazima) to live with his aunt. He has 6 cousins who are also in the Amazima program.

Francis’ favorite subject is Mathematics but what he really loves to do is sing. He wants to be a singer/artist when he completes school. An excellent student, Francis loves to play football (soccer).  At home, Francis' chores are washing clothes and grinding cassava flour (cassava is a root that is akin to a potato).

We love caring for children like Francis.  And we do it because of the Lord's great love for us.  One person at a time.
