There is a neighboring village to Buziika which is called Nyenga. Here, a church named
Evangel Church, is where several of our students go for prayers on Sunday. A group of
men from Evangel challenged our Amazima boys to a football (soccer) match on Saturday.
We were in!
Competition songs were belted out as loud as could be as we drove the Amazima bus over
to the neighboring town. Spirits were high as the boys prepared to play their hardest.

Isaac (the boy in red) hyrdates himself before the game. It is very common to fill little
bags full of water here for easy transport!

The team started with warm-ups they all did in tandem.
Finally... it was time to compete!
It was a fast-paced game and everyone gave it their all. The final score was a 5-5 tie.

Team coach and sponsorship mentor, Eric |
After the game the team coach Eric, a mentor in the Amazima sponsorship program, filled us in on why the church challenged us to the match. He said the church views these games as an opportunity to connect with our children and disciple them in the Christian faith. What an amazing example of Christ's love from our neighbors in Nyenga! We look forward to many games to come.
