Meet Bradley Lang: Operations Manager (Uganda)

Brad and several young workers

We're excited to introduce to you Amazima's Operations Manager, Bradley Lang.

Brad originally hails from Iowa but has served with Amazima in Uganda since 2010. His role with Amazima went from short-term volunteer to employee in just a few short months.

With degrees in teaching and construction and a heart for Jesus, Brad plays an invaluable part in nearly every Amazima outreach, ranging from construction, day-to-day operations, permits and procedures, building of the chapel and playground, training of young workers, the Amazima garden, assisting Katie and our other staff members as they need, and fixing anything that needs fixing.  Brad has been instrumental in projects like the Christmas gift basins.  He has gathered, assembled, and in the next few days, will be delivering the Christmas baskets so many of you helped provide to our sponsor families.

Brad works closely with Amazima staff to accomplish goals together for a greater purpose.  What Brad most likes about his job is seeing the Gospel in action every day.

“I wholeheartedly believe in the mission of what we’re doing,” Brad offers. “It’s easy to work a job where you’re completely sold out for the purpose and the goals.”

“The people we work with and people we help are genuinely appreciative. They’re good people. They’re deserving people. Whether it’s the staff we have that I work with every day or the hundreds if not thousands of people I see through Amazima each week, it’s good to be a part of their lives.”

Brad also wanted to relay a personal message to you.

“Thank you to anyone who is involved with Amazima. I’m over here in Africa but it wouldn’t be possible if it wasn’t for people back in the States. Prayers are so important to us and they are felt. When the struggles and hardships come, it’s amazing knowing we’ve got a family of people who are dedicated to keeping us in their prayers, and it makes all the difference in the world.”

  3. I am always amazed at those who give of themselves to help others in need. I have just finished reading Katie's book and I am blown away by such dedication and tenacity. I pray that God continues to give you the strength to continue this awesome work and that we may all learn from this wonderful story and join to do our part in this great world that we live in and not turn our back when we see those who need help.
    Warmly,
